What time does Wonka's The Golden Ticket come out?

Netflix runs one clock for the whole catalog: midnight Pacific. Everything else is arithmetic from there, which is why Hawaii gets the factory on Tuesday night and the East Coast gets it before sunrise. How many episodes are there?

Nine, at roughly 50 minutes apiece. They arrive in two batches.

Is it a binge or a weekly show?

Both, briefly. The seven-then-two split is the shape Netflix has been using for its competition shows all year — enough of the season at once to start an argument, with the ending held back so the finale has its own week. One practical consequence: if you start on the 23rd and finish that night, you are one week from the end, not six. That is a friendlier commitment than most reality seasons ask for.

Who narrates it, and whose voice is that?

There is no on-camera host. Willy Wonka speaks through a recreated version of Gene Wilder's voice, made with his estate's approval — the 1971 performance, not the 2005 or 2023 films. Rusty Goffe, who played an Oompa Loompa in that original, appears in character again.

Eureka Productions made the series, with Chris Culvenor and Paul Franklin among the executive producers, and shot it on Australia's Gold Coast. The twelve ticket-holders each bring a partner of their choosing, and the tests inside the factory are built to push them physically and morally. One of them leaves with what Netflix calls a life-changing prize; the amount has not been published.

What else is landing that week?

Wednesday the 23rd is crowded. Survivor 51 takes two hours of CBS that night and reaches Paramount+ on its own schedule, and Netflix also adds the legal drama Habeas Corpus and more of Physical: 100 Mexico. Is the finale really only two episodes? Yes — episodes 8 and 9, both on Sept. 30. Netflix has not said whether they unlock at the same hour as the premiere batch, though nothing about the schedule suggests otherwise.

Is there a season 2? Nothing has been announced. Netflix almost never renews a competition series before it has seen how the first one performs — the same wait its anthology titles go through.

Is this connected to the 2023 Wonka film? No. The series licenses the Roald Dahl property and leans on the 1971 adaptation, which is why the voice and the Oompa Loompa casting point backward rather than at Timothée Chalamet.
