What Time Does American Horror Story: 13 Come Out? Release Time and Episode Schedule

Six Thursdays, thirteen half-hour episodes, and an episode count that changes almost every week. Here is the whole run before anything else.
| Thursday | Episodes | Running total |
|---|---|---|
| Sept. 24 | 1–3 (premiere block) | 3 of 13 |
| Oct. 1 | 4–6 | 6 of 13 |
| Oct. 8 | 7–8 | 8 of 13 |
| Oct. 15 | 9–10 | 10 of 13 |
| Oct. 22 | 11–12 | 12 of 13 |
| Oct. 29 | 13 (finale) | 13 of 13 |
Bottom line — the premiere is Thursday, Sept. 24 at 9 p.m. ET on FX, and it streams on Hulu the same night. Three episodes run back to back that first evening. The season ends Oct. 29, which puts the finale two days before Halloween rather than on it.
What time does American Horror Story: 13 come out?
FX set the premiere at 9/8c. The odd part is the West Coast: the network's own announcement lists 6 p.m. PT, not the 9 p.m. PT you would get from a delayed Pacific feed.
So Pacific viewers are watching three hours ahead of the usual FX pattern, at the same real-world moment as the East Coast.
| Time zone | Premiere starts |
|---|---|
| Eastern | 9:00 p.m. Thursday |
| Central | 8:00 p.m. Thursday |
| Mountain | 7:00 p.m. Thursday |
| Pacific | 6:00 p.m. Thursday |
| Hawaii | 3:00 p.m. Thursday |
Listings put the three premiere episodes at roughly 9:00, 9:43 and 10:27 p.m. ET, so the block runs to about 11 p.m. Later Thursdays are shorter: two half-hours, done by 10.
Does it stream on Hulu the same night?
Yes. FX's announcement says the premiere debuts on FX and Hulu, which is the day-and-date pattern the network now uses for its scripted originals rather than the old next-morning drop.
That matters if you cut cable. You are not waiting until Friday, and you are not paying for a live TV package to see it Thursday. A standard Hulu subscription is enough — we keep current pricing for every service on our plans and prices page.
Internationally the season is listed for Disney+. Outside the U.S., check your local Disney+ listing for the exact hour, because the day-and-date promise is a U.S. one.
How many episodes are there, and how many land each week?
Thirteen, all half-hours — the shortest episode order the anthology has used. Total runtime for the season lands near six and a half hours, less than a single binge weekend.
The weekly count is not steady, and that is the thing people get wrong. Weeks one and two carry three episodes each. The next three Thursdays carry two. The finale stands alone. Three plus three plus two plus two plus two plus one gets you to 13.

Episode one is called “13.” Two is “1:13 AM,” three is “Rauhnacht.” The premiere follows a man giving hospice care to a client in a penthouse after his own brush with death, per the published listing.
If you would rather wait and watch it in one sitting, the full season is available Oct. 29. Our guide to weekly versus binge releases lists which of this fall's shows work that way.
Who is in the cast?
The pitch is a reunion. Sarah Paulson, Evan Peters, Emma Roberts, Billie Lourd, Kathy Bates, Angela Bassett, Gabourey Sidibe, Leslie Grossman, Frances Conroy, John Carroll Lynch, Mena Suvari, Mat Fraser and Jessica Lange are all back.
Ryan Murphy has described it as a crossover between the show's earlier seasons, with the witches of Miss Robichaux's Academy at the center and some performers playing more than one of their old characters. The number 13 and the superstition around it run underneath all of it.
New faces reported alongside the returning cast include John Waters and Cara Delevingne.
What else drops the same week?
Sept. 24 is crowded. Netflix puts all ten episodes of A Different World up that same morning, so the Hillman revival and the AHS premiere share a Thursday.
The day before, Survivor season 51 airs live on CBS and Paramount+, and Netflix drops Wonka's The Golden Ticket. Ryan Murphy's other current title, Monster: The Lizzie Borden Story, is already streaming.
The full day-by-day rundown is in this week's new releases, and every title we have timed sits in the release times index. For Hulu, HBO Max and Peacock specifically, there is a service page.
Is the show coming back after this?
Season 13 is not the ending. Murphy told The Hollywood Reporter in August that he is already working out the idea for a 14th season, and that FX chairman John Landgraf has told him the network will keep airing them as long as he wants to make them.
No date or theme for season 14 has been announced. FX has confirmed nothing beyond Murphy's comments, so treat anything more specific as unconfirmed until the network says it.
